Welcome!

I am Professor of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh and the Director of the European Studies Center (ESC), which is a Jean Monnet Center of Excellence and a National Resource Center for European Studies. I am also a Co-Editor of the Journal of Elections, Public Opinion and Parties (JEPOP) and Research & Politics.

My research and teaching focus on European politics, political party behavior and party competition. I am particularly interested in the behavior of small parties and how parties respond to, and interact with, voters and other parties and how voters respond to parties.
